In September, the northern and southern islands received up to 5 mm of rainfall; while remaining islands received less. North-Westerly winds prevailed for the Northern and Central islands while Westerly winds prevailed for the Southern islands of Maldives during the month of August.
Predictions:
A transition from ENSO-neutral to La Niña is likely in the next couple of months, witha71%chance of La Niña during October – December 2025. Thereafter, La Niña is favored but chances decreaseto54% in December 2025 – February 2026.
